Osteopathy: Hands-On Care for the Whole Body

Osteopathy at PhysioCare is quiet, precise, hands-on work. The osteopathic manual practitioner looks at how joints, fascia, and viscera share load — so a stubborn shoulder might be treated with the ribcage, or a low back with the hips and diaphragm, not only the sore spot.

What a session feels like

You remain clothed. Treatment is mostly on a table: slow mobilizations, muscle-energy techniques, myofascial release, and gentle pressure. It is not a deep-tissue massage and not a chiropractic adjustment, though some people see both clinicians in the same course of care.

Expect a thorough history. Osteopathy spends time on digestion, breathing, old injuries, and surgeries because those details change how the body compensates.

Who tends to book it

  • People with layered, hard-to-pinpoint pain
  • Neck and back stiffness that keeps returning
  • Rib, jaw, or pelvic patterns that did not settle with exercise alone
  • Patients who prefer slower, lower-force hands-on care

How it fits the rest of the clinic

We will not stack every modality into one week just because we offer them. If physiotherapy loading is the missing piece, we send you there. If you need massage for muscle guarding, we book that. Osteopathy is one door, not the only one.

Ask reception about availability. Direct billing applies on many plans; check your osteopathy coverage, as it is listed separately from physiotherapy on some policies.
